New Business Rates 2009-2010 “Help is at hand”

From 1st October, it is possible for every business that pays business rates to know what their liability could be as from next April.

Every five years, the Valuation Office revise the Rateable Value on every commercial property, on which the ‘property tax’ is paid; and every five years occupiers have an opportunity to appeal against their assessment.

Go on line to www.voa.gov.uk and find out what your future could look like. The web site will show you details of your new Rateable Value, the ‘rates liability indicator’ and what relief is available.
